The Drop Shipper: A Mysterious Masked Man?

April 8th, 2010 No comments

The mysterious drop shipper has left tracks all over the nation. He may have even dropped by your house last Christmas. Perhaps you remember how you found the perfect gift for your spouse, but how you live in California and the company that you ordered from was in Massachusetts and you wondered if it would come in time. Then just a few days later, the package showed up at your house with a return address of Arizona and you wondered just a little what had happened.

After your first encounter with the masked drop shipper, you started looking more closely into online retail and wondering just what it would take for you to become a business owner. Along the way, you started to see behind the mask of the drop shipper. You realized that with him along for the ride, making some money through online retail could be a lot easier than you had ever imagined.

You quickly noticed that drop shippers really do the hard work and that they make running a business much more efficient. As you take in the orders for your products, you just pass them along to the drop shipper and then let him pack up and ship off each piece of merchandise to its new owner.

Wow, you thought, and wondered why everyone wasn’t jumping at the chance to use drop shipping to begin his or her own business. As far as you could tell, drop shipping had many advantages and only a few disadvantages.

First of all, drop shipping meant that you didn’t have to worry a bit about your inventory. This was a definite plus since the garage was already filled to capacity and you definitely didn’t have room to store boxes of bulk orders of merchandise for your store. Since the drop shipper would fill and ship each order, all you needed were a few samples of inventory and some photographs from the catalogs the drop shippers provided to design your own advertising and webpage.

The second huge plus to drop shipping had to do with the nitty-gritty of the financial side. Typically, a retail business requires you to have enough capital to buy your initial merchandise and begin marketing. With drop shipping, the initial start-up costs are minimal. You begin by advertising, a customer orders and pays for a product, you forward the order to the drop shipper along with the payment for the product and shipping. This leaves you with cash in your pocket, or in other words, positive cash flow!

You found even more pros and cons as you researched drop shipping. Pro: the product is shipped from the location closest to the customer. Con: you don’t have as much control over your inventory. Pro: you save time and money by not shipping products. Con: a product might back-order if you don’t keep track of the drop shipper’s current stock. Pro: you have endless options of products that you can try out, but you never have to buy any of them up front.

In time, the drop shipper really did become your loyal sidekick because despite his few weaknesses, he was there to make your business adventure possible.

Home Based Business – eBook Marketing Explained

April 8th, 2010 No comments

Do you know why eBooks are so good for your home based business? It is because they are full of information. When people are looking for something on the Internet, the majority of the time what they are looking for is information. Much of the time what their query sends back is an eBook (ie. electronic book). The fact is that I have come across eBooks which look so much like a website or newsletter that I can hardly tell the difference.

For those of you to whom it is still not clear what an eBook is, I will explain in further detail. As indicated above, an eBook is simply a book, but in an electronic format. Usually when you come across an eBook, it is in a pdf (ie. portable document format). Nonetheless, you can often find eBooks in both text and word processor formats. Additionally, some eBooks are created with unique software, specific to that eBook creator.

Just like any paper book, eBooks are composed of written subject matter in a convenient bundle. Both contain the same information, but this information is transferred to the reader by using different methods. However, eBooks have some advantages which traditional books simply do not offer. For instance, the contents of eBooks can be protected from unauthorized copying, or sharing with third parties.

While I have noticed that many well known publishing companies are now creating electronic, as well as traditional books, many eBooks are now created by a home based business, or small organizations. This is a good thing since the readers of eBooks are just as varied as those who create them.

While eBooks are used to share information, teach, entertain, and sell or promote, in the same way as their paper counterparts, they have some advantages. For one, they are much less expensive to produce, and can move from idea to finished product much more quickly as well. Furthermore, they can be transmitted to someone in the comforts of their own home within milliseconds. This low cost and easy dissemination makes ebooks much easier and more cost-effective to keep updated. In addition, eBooks allow greater interactivity with the reader and the Internet.

Now here is where you, the home based business owner come in. You have a couple of uses for eBooks. First, you can create an eBook and sell it on the open market. Many home business owners have had massive success doing this. However, where I think you will have the biggest benefit, is if you give your eBook away. This is a marketing tactic which has proven to be extremely successful and has become one of the leading viral marketing methods.

Creating a useful free eBook can help provide valuable advertising for any home based business owner by establishing credibility and expert status. Such status will often lead the reader to then visit the author’s website and/or sign up for a newsletter. Some eBooks are created with a “soft sell” approach to achieve this goal. However, others use a “hard sell” approach and go for a sale within the book itself. If you create an eBook which includes valuable information that can be freely exchanged with others, then it can, and will be circulated around the Internet, and continuously work to promote its creator’s website and products. In effect, it will become viral.

Just keep eBooks in the front of your mind. They can be a very valuable Internet marketing tool for your home based business.

Most of those people enjoy the type of existence that wasn’t possible for them to have had in ordinary circumstances.

A third is the fact that there’s marking affiliates that commit the error of advertising just a single product or service and as a result, consumers aren’t provided enough options to choose from. There is additionally the possibility of generating fewer sales as compared to having more choices for the consumers to think on, so it is always best to give them a few alternatives than to give them only one.

Therefore, they head into affiliate marketing with nothing but misconceptions and fantastical opinions of wealth swimming in their consciousness, without understanding that they’re bound to commit errors that may prove to be their downfall.

Find out exactly what the most common errors affiliates make commit may dispel that gloom and doom feeling surrounding affiliate marketing by fixing some erroneous notions about it. It may additionally be able to make people that are worried understand that like any other industry, there’s do’s and don’ts involved in this one if they wish to make all of their endeavors matter. Apple Defies Expectations Again With The New IPad Touch

Early this year, on January 27, Steve Jobs, presented what Apple lovers everywhere in the world insist will be the world’s best and most incredible new gadget – the iPad. And while MADtv tried to come up with a skit featuring a made-up product of the same name back in 2005, Apple’s iPad is nothing if not original. There has been no product like iPod with the power to turn up the noses of its owners and let them look down upon poor souls that don’t worship Steve Jobs, or iJobs, the new name he is rumored to be adopting.

Apples obsession is to make new releases more about the lifestyle and culture of the company than the product itself. In an age when technology has focused on being smaller, more compact and more convenient, Apple made the bold move to do the opposite – create a product that is larger and less portable than the average cell phone. Rather than being a hand-held device, the iPad seems to have been designed to fit snugly in the pocket of Paul Bunyan’s pants. Of course, the sizing could be part of a larger, society-enriching effort; creating a massively over sized iPod may be Apple’s attempt to finally lure the mysterious Yeti into the public light. Instead of blurry pictures the world could get a detailed look of the picture via the iPad’s 9.7-inch LED-back lit IPS display. Word has it, the picture is so clear you can see the glimmer of all of the money wasted on the product reflecting in the screen.

The initial reaction of many to the iPad was confusion – why would I need an obnoxiously large version of the iPhone? Wouldn’t that be like trading in my iPhone for the one used by Zack Morris on “Saved By The Bell”? But that’s where Jobs and company defied expectations again. Instead of just expanding the size, Apple decided to decrease the number of features; 3G connectivity doesn’t come standard, unless you want to fork over an additional $129 for the privilege. While most companies are busy trying to pack in more features for less money, Apple showed just how ground-breaking it is by doing the opposite.

But that is not just all. The iPad doesn’t feature a camera and you will not be able to view your pictures on the stunning, smaller-than-any-laptop display. Many refer to the product as merely an iPhone on steroids will be put in their place when they realize that they can’t make any phone calls. In reality the iPad is an iPhone with emasculating, steroid-like side effects. But it is not a poor design. Apple knew that you would no use for phone calls after purchasing the device, after all who wants to be on the phone after owning a device that is so awesome.

Apple managed to ensure that you would not be able to communicate with the outside world while using the device by not being able to multitask. That means if you are busy going through your beautiful pictures that you were not able to take with your iPad, you will not be able to post a Twitter update about how you enjoy and prefer to surf the web without even seeing some of the content on it. The iPad does not support Flash, which is used to create a lot of applications and countless games and website. Yes, this sure is way better than a net book or notebook.

But at least you won’t have to worry about wasting hard drive space, because the iPad’s standard capacity is 16GB, and there is no slot for external memory cards.

What is likely the most limiting factor, though, is the price. If you want to get your hands on an this beautiful device, you’ll have to fork out $499 (the price of a non-Apple laptop). And to get 3G with that, you’ll need to plunk down $629. And what better time to spend disposable income you don’t have? It’s not as though 10 percent of the country is unemployed or that a massive earthquake just devastated an island nearby. Jobs and company are probably about to solve those crises, though, possibly through the use of the iPad.

Keep in mind that Apple iPad is still the most impressive device amongst all devices. An iPhone without camera or calling feature, a laptop without a keyboard or the ability to fully experience the internet, all from a company that basically is known as the Almighty.
