Making money from your blog, while not the hardest thing you’ve ever done, may well not be the easiest either!

Just starting out online? My suggestion to you is to start off with a free Blogger blog. Blogger is now owned by Google, so monetizing with AdSense is very easy to do.

The best way to get to blogging is with your own hosted blog from WordPress.org. The feeling is these hosted blogs get “more respect” so to speak from the search engines, and I feel there is some truth to this. If you don’t want to part with about $10.00 a month for hosting (cheap!) than a Blogger blog where it’s at.

Regardless of which platform you decide to use, the best way to start (I think) is to choose a niche (the subject of your blog) that you have some interest in, or better yet are passionate about. This will make writing content (the hardest part for me) for your new blog much easier. Think about it, if you know your subject matter well you don’t have to do much research (if any), you will be able to just write, and that my friend will make your blogging sooo much easier!

If making money online from your blog is part of your plan, you should choose a niche (the topic of your blog) with ready-to-buy customers. How do you do this? You get into you visitors heads and figure out what they will want or need, and then you simply supply that want or need in the pages of your blog. You can turn a simple little blog into a money making machine!

So you want to work from your home and make some extra money online? There are many ways to accomplish this, but I think starting your own blog is the best way! This way you will have an online presents, and will have to do some writing, (which you had better get used to.)

If you do choose a niche you’re passionate about, you will find like minded people in cyberspace that share your passion. You can then build a community and work within your community to build relationships and even more money making opportunities can unfold for you! That is what making money online is all about, working with people, and showing honesty and integrity in all your online dealings.

Remember blogging can be fun, so relax and try to enjoy it. You may find you want to expand and start another blog…and another…and who knows this could be the start of something big!
