When it comes to Internet marketing, most people assume if they place an ad in the PPC or organic market for their website they will make money. Wrong! It is not about visitors, it’s about conversion to sales.
I should have known better, but I kept hoping that my dream would somehow materialize by a new unknown marketing method. Yet, every time I went back to an Internet marketing method I created 10 years ago-I made money.
Most Internet marketing methods pitched will not work simply because they don’t solve for the secondary pitch. You need to be able to manage your prospects versus looking for the quick sale.
If you take a close look at some of these programs they show very similar commission printouts. This is because all of these printouts are from affiliate networks and not actual “real” merchant statements for actual shopping carts tied to actual real life Internet businesses selling everything from jewelry to baseball cards.
Regardless of your product and service offered on the Internet, I have come to the conclusion; if the product is not unique you will be faced with a huge disappointment marketing the product on the Internet. But more important than being unique, is the issue of having a large hungry market for your product.
Sending email solicitations to your own opt-in database is where the money lies in Internet marketing-not the “click and sale approach” in the PPC or organic market. It’s your ability to create a database and solicit these prospects will be the basis to your success on the Internet. Think of the Internet as place to collect prospects versus a place to go after the click and sale approach.
